Dear Friends:

Only a totalitarian state arrogates to itself the right to withhold lifesaving information from its people.  In true democracies, journalists behave like government watchdogs by blowing the whistle on government corruption.

In a February 15 article, "The Grassroots Abortion War," Nancy Gibbs of Time Magazine called induced abortion a "safe" procedure. The facts, however, simply do not support her claim. For example, Gibbs did not tell her readers that:

1) Eight medical groups acknowledge an independent link between abortion and breast cancer;

2) Even the U.S. National Cancer Institute admits to one of two cancer risks associated with abortion - the loss of the protective effect of childbearing; and

3) Planned Parenthood of Australia's consent forms posted on its website admit to several serious complications of abortion, including impaired fertility - an accepted risk factor for breast cancer. [Available at:
