Dear Friends:

We encourage all of our readers to be good citizens by registering to vote, volunteering for political candidates of your choice, and then voting on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

In his book, Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville, a 19th Century French statesman and sociologist, argued that both a moral and educated citizenry are needed for a democratic system of government to continue.

We strongly encourage voters to educate themselves on the candidates' positions.  The group, Priests for Life, has published a voter guide in English and Spanish showing where the presidential candidates stand on abortion, gay marriage, experimental research on human embryos and other issues.  You can find it by clicking here.

Please be sure to share this information with family and friends.

Sincerely,

Karen Malec
