Dear Friends:
The National Post is reputed to be Canada's third leading newspaper. To our knowledge, Barbara Kay is the only mainstream journalist who has ever possessed the political courage to inform women that the Institute of Medicine lists abortion as a risk factor for having a premature birth later on in life. A link to her article, "Poland's 'preemie miracle' is an embarrassing postscript to Henry Morgentaler's Order of Canada," is shown at the end of our message below.
A premature birth before 37 weeks of pregnancy puts the child at risk for having cerebral palsy. Studies show that a premature birth before 32 weeks of pregnancy puts the mother at risk for breast cancer.
If premature birth before 32 weeks of pregnancy increases breast cancer risk for the mother, then abortion (which involves the same hormonal changes to the breasts) also puts women at increased risk for breast cancer. Ironically, scientists do not challenge the former evidence, but abortion zealots in the scientific community go berserk when abortion is implicated as a risk factor for the disease.
Taxpayers and health insurance consumers are paying for the tremendous costs of abortion in the form of intensive care for prematurely-born children, special education programs for children with cerebral palsy, breast cancer care for mothers, etc.
According to STOPP Planned Parenthood, taxpayers gave Planned Parenthood $336.7 million during its fiscal year 2006-07. That represents 33% of Planned Parenthood's income. Moreover, $114 million of taxpayer money was directed to Planned Parenthood's savings account.
Can taxpayers and health insurance consumers really afford the cost of abortion with the economy at its lowest point since the Great Depression?
Tobacco companies were made to pay for the costs of cigarette smoking. Why shouldn't the abortion industry be made to pay for the costs of premature births and breast cancers due to previous abortions?
Spread the word.
Sincerely, Karen Malec Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer
