Dear Friends:
Time is growing short. On Tuesday, November 4, U.S. voters will have an opportunity to choose a new president and other elected officials. We strongly urge all citizens to participate in the democratic process by voting.
You can help prevent other individuals or politically active groups from disenfranchising voters through their use of fraudulent voter registrations. Please help reduce fraud and abuse of our democratic system by volunteering to serve as poll watchers for the candidate or party of your choice. Contact your county registrar to help process new registrations and off-site votes, many of which may be fraudulent.
To learn where the presidential candidates stand on a variety of important issues, visit the Election Center.
The elections on November 4 are of vital importance to our nation. Those who are elected to the presidency, the Senate and the House of Representatives will determine whether or not:
1) One or two more justices will be named to the U.S. Supreme Court who will strike down Roe v. Wade, the court case that made abortion legally accessible;
2) The U.S. government will give its support to coercive and involuntary overseas family planning programs;
3) The Freedom of Choice Act is passed which would force American taxpayers to subsidize abortions and would sweep away all state and local laws that limit or restrict abortion, including parental notice and consent legislation and informed consent laws that ensure women are aware of the numerous risks of abortion;
4) The misnamed "Fairness Doctrine" is re-instated thereby muzzling conservative and pro-family views that are currently presented mainly on the radio.
5) The Equal Rights Amendment is passed thereby invalidating all federal and state laws with differing limitations on men vs. women and invalidating laws limiting or restricting abortions; and
6) The lies and hateful attacks on pregnant mothers and on crisis pregnancy centers that warn them about the risks of abortion will be escalated to extreme proportions.
Please share this information with your family and friends. Finally, be sure to pray that God will bless this nation with good leaders.
Sincerely, Karen Malec Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer
