Dear Friends:
Urgent! Call your representative
in the U.S. House of Representatives immediately!
During the week of November 2, House
Speaker
Nancy Pelosi plans to muscle a vote through
the House of
Representatives on the pro-abortion health care bill (H.R.
3200) with little notice and without allowing a vote on an
amendment sponsored by Congressmen
Bart
Stupak and Joseph
Pitts that would prohibit the use of government funds for
abortion.
The
Associated Press explained in a story dated October 23, 2009 that
Democratic leaders do not want Stupak's amendment to be considered by
the House because they fear there is sufficient support for it among
members of both parties.
Pelosi
is planning to do an end run around Stupak's amendment. She plans
to
force the pro-abortion health care bill through the House by using a
procedure called a "closed rule," which would mean that no amendments,
including the Stupak amendment - would be permitted or considered.
The
House will be voting on whether to use the procedure called the "closed
rule" very soon.
This
is a do or die moment in history for both the abortion
industry and those opposed to the use of government
subsidies for elective abortions through two federal
programs.
Call your representative in the
House today and follow up with an e-mail message.
If
you don't want government funds to be used to pay for elective
abortions, tell your legislator to: "Vote 'No' on the closed
rule &
oppose H.R. 3200."
By urging your representative to
vote "No" on
the closed rule, you are saying that you want the House to have a
chance to vote on Stupak's amendment prohibiting government subsidies
for elective abortions. By urging your representative to vote "No" on the closed rule and to oppose the health
care bill, HR 3200, you will be urging him or her to
oppose the abortion mandate.
