Dear Friends:

Please continue to call your U.S. Senators on Thursday and Friday this week.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced his healthcare bill last night. Like the phony the Capps Amendment from the House debate, Reid's bill provides for federal funding of abortion through a public option and directs federal funds to private insurance carriers that provide coverage for abortion (pp. 116-124).

Tell your Senators government-funded abortion means more dead American women from breast cancer.

Abortion is responsible for 1.5 million extra breast cancer cases since abortion became legally accessible in 1973. Because the mortality rate has averaged 20% since 1973, it's fair to say that 300,000 women died from breast cancer because of abortion (based on 50 million abortions, a 30% average increase in risk from abortion, and a 10% lifetime risk for the average American woman without abortion).

Ask your Senators who support the abortion mandate in Reid's bill why they don't care if women die.

HighNoonforHealthCare.org makes it easy for you to call your Senators. To get started, go to the HighNoonforHealthCare.org home page and click "call." You will then be prompted to enter your zip code, which will identify and bring up your Senators. From there, click on the "call now" button. Enter your phone number and select the Senator you would like to speak to. You'll actually receive a call on your designated phone line; your phone does not need to be connected to your computer. There are even suggested discussion topics and talking points to help you during the call. And, the call is free.

E-mail your Senators these links to Chinese and Turkish studies published in 2009 that show statistically significant increases in breast cancer risk (17% and 66% respectively) for women who have abortions. Send them a link to Dr. Angela Lanfranchi's study discussing the biological reasons for an abortion-breast cancer link:
