President
Barack Obama has made a stunning power grab by daring to deprive
U.S. citizens of their right to religious freedom through a
mandate from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The mandate would compel all insurance plans to cover
abortion-causing drugs, contraceptives, and sterilizations.
Religious employers will be forced to provide this coverage,
even if it violates their religious beliefs.
You don't have
to be religious to stand up for the right to religious freedom,
which has been guaranteed to U.S. citizens since the Bill of
Rights was ratified in 1791. If you choose
to do nothing to protest this unprecedented, totalitarian
move⎯simply because you are not a person of faith, then you may
wake up one day to find that your cherished rights to freedom of
speech, press, or assembly are targeted for elimination next.
The right to religious freedom is listed as the first of our
first amendment rights, which says:
"Congress
shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the
freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people
peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a
redress of grievances."
What is missing
from the debate on the HHS mandate is the link between use of oral
contraceptives (the birth control pill) and breast cancer. An astounding
282,430 total cases of breast cancer (in situ and invasive) are
expected in 2012. If the HHS mandate is included in ObamaCare,
then you can expect there will be more breast cancer cases and
greater costs for taxpayers. And you can count on breast cancer "awareness" charities
to remain silent about the risks of using oral contraceptives. For
instance:
1) The World Health Organization classified estrogen-progestagen oral
contraceptives as Group 1 cancer-causing agents (on the same list
with tobacco and asbestos);
2) At least two studies⎯Dolle et al. 2009 and Ma
et al. 2010⎯strongly link
oral contraceptive use with a treatment-resistant form of breast
cancer⎯triple-negative breast cancer, which is associated with a
high mortality rate.
3) A 2006 meta-analysis in the
journal, Mayo Clinic
Proceedings, reported a
statistically significant 44% increase in pre-menopausal breast
cancer risk associated with use of oral contraceptives before
first full term pregnancy.
Don't forget to attend the Nationwide Rally
for Religious Freedom on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 12:00
p.m. local time.
Sincerely,
